We recently got an in-depth look at the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro TWS earphones, which are set to be officially unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris. These images were shared by Reddit user Plastic_Development1, who purchased the Buds3 Pro from Walmart for $250. Additionally, two other Reddit users, LiNx0NeXtUs and single_mind, also managed to buy the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro ahead of the launch. They all shared their impressions of Samsung’s upcoming TWS earphones on Reddit, providing valuable insights into the new product.
Plastic_Development1 shared their thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro, praising the sound quality as superb, though they mentioned it leans a bit heavy on the bass. They prefer these earbuds over their first-generation Apple AirPods Pro, highlighting that both the Ambient Mode and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) are superior in the Galaxy Buds3 Pro. However, they noted a downside: the voice recorded through the Buds3 Pro’s microphone sounded muffled, with the mic quality being comparable to that of the AirPods Pro.
Plastic_Development1 noted that the settings menu for the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro only listed AAC and SBC as supported audio codecs. The Buds3 Pro feature touch controls, allowing users to slide on the stem for volume adjustment and squeeze the stem to pause or skip music.
A recent Reddit screenshot revealed that the Buds3 Pro’s stem lights can be controlled using a pinch-and-hold gesture. This feature is only active when both earbuds are out of their case and not in use. Additionally, the earbuds need to have at least 30% battery for the lights to function. Users can choose from three lighting styles: Blinking, Fade In and Out, and Steady.
Another screenshot revealed that Voice Detect support is available for Ambient Mode. This feature can be manually turned off by pinching the earbud after it has been automatically enabled.
Plastic_Development1 noted that both the charging case and the Buds3 Pro have a premium feel. Although Samsung appears to have used a plastic hinge for the case instead of metal, it doesn’t compromise on quality. The hinge feels just as reliable as the one on the AirPods Pro and is notably sturdier than that of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
According to Reddit user LiNx0NeXtUs, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro’s stems don’t feel like a significant upgrade over the bean-shaped design of the Buds2 Pro, and the music quality remains similar. However, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro does offer an improved Ambient Mode compared to its predecessor. Additionally, they are just as comfortable as the Buds2 Pro, if not more so.
LiNx0NeXtUs praised the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro for having superior Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) compared to the Buds2 Pro and even the AirPods Pro, a view shared by Plastic_Development1. LiNx0NeXtUs also noted that the slide gesture on the Buds3 Pro is exclusively for volume control, while the pinch/press gesture can perform four different functions. By default, a long-press allows users to switch between ANC and Ambient Mode.
A Reddit user, single_mind, shared their thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro. Despite the light weight and plastic build, which might give a cheap feel, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro are described as very sturdy with no flex. The charging case is solid, with a slight heft, and features a lid with a strong magnet. The buds fit snugly into the case, ensuring they stay securely in place.
Single_mind praised the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro for their superior sound quality, noting that they offer “better treble, better bass, and louder sound” compared to the Pixel Buds Pro. However, they also mentioned that the 360° sound feature is underwhelming and that the head tracking functionality “lagged slightly during movement.”
The Ambient Mode is useful, but it can sound somewhat unnatural. You can reduce the hissiness by adjusting the settings in the app, which provides a fantastic user experience. The screenshot below demonstrates how to make these adjustments.
Single_mind praised the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro for their exceptional comfort and secure fit, stating they outperform the Pixel Buds Pro. According to them, the Buds3 Pro come pre-installed with medium-sized ear tips and include small and large-sized tips in the box, ensuring a customized fit for every user. Additionally, the package includes a USB cable for convenient charging.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro feature highly responsive touch controls with a satisfying haptic feedback. Their Voice Detection function is also highly effective. According to single_mind, the battery performance is impressive; during a one-hour conversation with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) enabled, the battery was drained by about 33%. However, placing the buds in the charging case quickly recharged them to 97% in just 12 minutes.
Next week, Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Buds3 along with the Galaxy Buds3 Pro. A recently surfaced image of the retail box reveals that the standard Galaxy Buds3 will feature a stem design.
