The Apple MacBook Air is one of the most popular laptops globally, known for its sleek design, all-day battery life, and top-tier performance. Now, Apple is gearing up to launch the next-generation MacBook Air M4 in March 2025, according to a report by Bloomberg.
While the MacBook Air M4 is expected to retain the same design as its predecessor, it will bring major performance upgrades with the M4 chip, making it faster, more efficient, and AI-ready. Here are the top five features that set it apart from the MacBook Air M3.
The MacBook Air M4 will be powered by Apple’s latest M4 chip, featuring 10 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. This chip will deliver:
✅ Faster performance for multitasking and pro-level tasks
✅ Better power efficiency with a cutting-edge 3nm chip design
✅ A new Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for advanced AI capabilities
With these enhancements, the MacBook Air M4 will match the performance of the entry-level MacBook Pro M4, making it a great choice for professionals and students alike.
Apple has discontinued the 8GB RAM option for MacBook Air M2 and M3, meaning the base model of the M4 is likely to come with 16GB of RAM as standard. However, the storage will still start at 256GB, and users who need more will have to upgrade at the time of purchase, as neither RAM nor storage is user-expandable.
One of the biggest limitations of previous MacBook Air models was their single external display support when the lid was open. With the M4 chip, the MacBook Air M4 will finally allow:
✅ Two external monitors while keeping the laptop screen open
✅ Triple-display setup for improved productivity
This is a huge upgrade for professionals who rely on multiple screens for work, video editing, or coding.
The MacBook Air M4 will ship with macOS Sequoia, featuring Apple’s latest AI-powered tools, including:
✅ Writing tools to improve content creation
✅ AI Playground for enhanced productivity
✅ Smarter Siri with better voice recognition and task handling
With the M4’s upgraded NPU and 16GB RAM, these features will run smoothly without performance slowdowns.
Apple will continue to offer the MacBook Air M4 in two sizes:
📏 13.6-inch model – More portable, up to 15 hours battery life
📏 15.3-inch model – Larger screen, better speakers, and up to 18 hours battery life
Both models will have similar specs, but the bigger version will offer longer battery life and a better audio experience.
The MacBook Air M4 is expected to launch at Rs 1,14,900 (approx.), similar to the MacBook Air M3. Given the big performance and AI upgrades, waiting for the M4 model instead of buying the M3 is a smart decision.
With a powerful M4 chip, AI-ready macOS Sequoia, dual display support, and better battery life, the MacBook Air M4 is shaping up to be the best MacBook Air yet. Stay tuned for the official launch in March 2025.
