Apple is expanding its AI ecosystem by working on integrating Google Gemini into Apple Intelligence, alongside its existing support for ChatGPT. While no official announcement has been made, a recent iOS 18.4 beta update has revealed signs of third-party AI model integration, including OpenAI and Google options.
Apple has already confirmed ChatGPT support for Apple Intelligence, and now it appears that Google’s Gemini AI is next in line. The latest backend update in iOS 18.4 beta includes new settings that list both “OpenAI” and “Google” under third-party AI models, indicating that Apple is actively working on bringing Gemini integration to its devices.
While Apple is developing this feature, the official rollout timeline remains uncertain. However, there are two possible scenarios:
✅ Optimistic Release: Google Gemini could arrive with the public launch of iOS 18.4 in April 2025.
✅ Delayed Rollout: Apple may take longer to refine the integration, or it could even decide against it entirely.
Apple’s Craig Federighi has previously hinted at support for multiple AI models, including Google’s Gemini, but there’s no concrete timeline for when this feature will be available.
In the meantime, Apple has officially confirmed that Apple Intelligence will finally launch in the European Union with the iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 update in April. This update will also introduce support for more languages, making Apple’s AI suite more accessible to users worldwide.
If Apple successfully integrates Google Gemini, users may get more AI-powered features within Siri, writing tools, and Apple’s ecosystem. This could lead to:
🔹 More AI choices beyond ChatGPT
🔹 Better AI-powered experiences in Apple apps
🔹 Enhanced customization for Apple Intelligence
With iOS 18.4 set to launch in April, we may soon get more clarity on Apple’s AI roadmap. Stay tuned for more updates as Apple continues to enhance Apple Intelligence with powerful new AI models.
